Arkansas - River Trout Fishing - Shore Lunches and  Camping Meals

Campvacations -Steaks almost readyAt Cotter Trout Dock we are famous for our shore lunches and camp cooking as well as the great White River and Buffalo River fishing.

Field & Stream and other outdoor magazines have written several articles about us, and they all raved about our meals. But the article we are most proud of is one that appeared in Gourmet Magazine. They had many good things to say about our meal and our guides. We bet you will too!

We use top quality ingredients like corn-fed beef, local tomatoes (when possible) and cooks who know what to do with them.

Shore Lunches

Arkansas River Fishing - shore lunch
A Shore Lunch is freshly caught trout, bacon (cooked a special way) and tomato sandwiches, french fries, hush puppies, blackeyed peas (seasoned a special way) and banana pudding or strawberry shortcake.

This is all cooked by your guide over charcoal along the riverbank or on a gravel bar in the middle of the river.  We have some guests that say they come here just for the Shore Lunch.

After fishing all morning on the White River or Buffalo River, groups and individuals enjoy pulling up to a gravel bar at noon for a great hot home cooked meal.

Camping Meals

Arkansas River Fishing - cooks

On overnight trips on the White River or the Buffalo River you'll be accompanied by an advance
commissary boat operated by one of our excellent cooks.  This craft carries all provisions and gear, and travels ahead to the camp site. Everything is set up and meals ready when you arrive. One commissary boat supplies up to 6 fishermen. For larger groups we provide additional boats and cooks.

Cooks arrive ahead of guests so that lunch will be ready when they come ashore.  A rain fly is set up for shade and tables are set up. Your guide brings the boat chairs that you have been using and sets them around table.  Lunch takes about an hour, then it is time to go fishing again.

You'll eat heartily at the end of the day! Delicious camp meals prepared by skilled outdoor chefs and the invigorating air sharpens your appetite. You'll sleep soundly on comfortable cots, awaken refreshed, and discover a zest for living with new found energy.
